Andy Joshua, Director of Children's Ministry
Andy Joshua is director of Children's Ministry at UrbanPromise, which includes afterschool programs, StreetLeader job training, and summer camps. The StreetLeader program employs approximately 100 teenagers each year and provides multiple programming opportunities for these young people. It has seen numerous graduates go onto four-year universities and become leaders on their college campuses and in their neighborhoods. Andy has been instrumental in the success rate of our StreetLeaders and college students. He has also created programs of Christian development and educational tutoring as part of this multi-faceted youth ministry.
Through his years of experience with urban teens, Andy has become an excellent communicator for youth events and staff training sessions. He enjoys speaking on social justice issues, youth development, and effective methods for working with teens.
Andy is a graduate of William and Mary University, where he received a B.S. in physics, and the University of Maryland's School of Public Affairs, where he received his Master's in international security policy. Andy is married, lives in Camden with his wife and children, and loves to play ultimate Frisbee.
