Programs

  • UrbanPromise Academy is a private, Christian high school that fulfills the needs of students who have not met their academic potential in traditional school settings and often enter two to three grade levels below national standards. Universities and colleges former Academy students have attended include Eastern University, Rowan University, Rutgers University, Coppin State University, Virginia State University, Cabrini College, and Camden County College.

  • CamdenForward School is a private, Christian elementary and middle school serving students at the kindergarten through eighth grade levels. With a learning environment rich in love, hope, and structure, the School challenges students to attain high academic standards, learn necessary life skills, maintain personal integrity, and develop a Christian worldview. Our credo is "Enter to learn. Exit to serve."

  • Hundreds of children ages six to fourteen attend one of UrbanPromise’s five AfterSchool Programs throughout the city of Camden. The Programs are safe, inviting, and stimulating environments that provide opportunities for children to improve their academic performance, develop necessary life skills, create positive relationships with caring adults, explore the creative arts, and nurture young faith.

  • Our six neighborhood-based, six-week summer programs for Camden children are dedicated to providing fun, educational, age- appropriate activities for 1st to 8th graders in a safe and structured environment where young people can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • The StreetLeader Program offers employment to Camden-area teenagers to work as counselors, tutors, mentors, disciplinarians, and role models for children in our AfterSchool Programs and Summer Camps. StreetLeaders are encouraged to stay in school, attain job skills, and avoid negative choices such as early parenthood, drugs, and the penal system.

  • Art education is a vital component of the overall development of our children and youth at UrbanPromise. Weekly visual art instruction provides opportunities for our young people to enrich their lives by practicing skills in observation, imaginative thinking and creative production, building self-esteem and confidence.  Each week, exciting things are happening in art class for UrbanPromise students.

  • UrbanTrekkers is an expeditionary outdoor program designed to complement the academic experiences of our UrbanPromise teenagers through hands-on learning and mentoring where the world is the classroom. Through travel to places beyond students’ everyday lives and a focus on cross-cultural experiences, historical perspectives, environmental awareness, and community service, students are motivated to learn from their Trekker journeys and carry that motivation into their studies.

  • The Partner Program matches UrbanPromise students with those interested in investing in the education of Camden youth. Partners support the schooling of one or more students at the elementary, middle, or high school levels and offer them the opportunity to attain skills necessary for academic achivement, life management, and Christian leadership.
