Life Goes On.
May 26, 2011

I have no idea where the time went, but the end is here. I can't say thank you enough to everyone who has supported me throughout this internship. You have provided me with lessons after lessons and I have grown tremendously. Most of all, you have given me an opportunity to love the people of Camden, NJ.

As the internship comes to a close, life continues. For me, I have accepted a few challenges that I am looking forward to tackling. Starting in June I will be coaching a little league team in North Camden. This is the first year of the North Camden Little League in a really long time. Through partnerships with the Philadelphia Phillies, Camden Riversharks and Rutgers University, it should be an amazing season. In the fall I will be starting at Eastern University. My plan is to stay intimately involved with the people I have come to know here in Camden during my time at Eastern. I feel that this will make my studies an everyday reality.

Once again, thank you so much for all of your prayers, encouraging words and financial support. This has honestly been one of the best years of my life.

Theme Of The Week

Facing Giants in Your Life

We started out the week with an exaggerated reenactment of David and Goliath. Our challenge to the kids was to think of giants in their lives. They came up with examples like school, bullies, drugs, family and many burdens that weigh them down.

After the skit we split the kids up into different prayer stations. Each child was given an opportunity to write prayers down, pray with a staff member or just talk. We also had some staff share testimonies about the Power of God.

Let it snow!
January 22, 2011

January brought cold weather and a lot of snow! On snow days our house seems to be where all the neighborhood kids meet up. Last week we took them sledding, played snow football and soccer. After they were good and tired we brought them back to our house for some Hot Cocoa and a movie. It was a PERFECT day.
